Receiver Drier — HVAC Cooling Circuit – Series 2.X

This receiver drier assembly is the non-serviceable canister mounted in the high-pressure A/C line below and to the right of the 400 V controller. It filters, stores, and dries the refrigerant charge after the condenser, and its built-in sight glass helps diagnose charge and flow issues.

Why these fail

• Moisture after a leak — Once the system has been open, the desiccant becomes saturated and can no longer protect the compressor and TXV.
• Debris contamination — Compressor wear or hose breakdown loads the drier with particles, restricting flow.
• Age and corrosion — Years of heat cycling can corrode the shell and fittings, risking leaks at the crimp or ports.
• Improper re-use — Re-using an old drier after major A/C repairs invites repeat failures and poor cooling performance.
