Roadster 12 Volt Battery

Tesla Roadster 12 V Auxiliary Battery Upgrade (From 8 Amp Hours to 12 Amp Hours)

Roadster 2.x models, VIN 501 on up, use a small auxiliary batteryโ€”buried under the front passenger fenderโ€”to power all 12-volt electronics. A Tesla retrofit from the 1.5 series Roadsters which used two of eleven battery sheets to supply 12 Volts causing premature sheet failure.ย  The solution was 12 Volt support from a battery.ย  This battery should be replaced every couple of years.

Our upgraded unit increases capacity to 12 Ah (vs. the typical 8 Ah motorcycle battery) and is engineered specifically for electronic applications (no starter motor required).

  • 50% more capacity: 12 Ah vs 8 Ah improves reserve time and system stability.
  • Better audio performance: extra amperage delivers tighter bass and more authoritative percussion.
  • Electronics-focused design: optimized for steady 12 V loads rather than starter bursts.
  • Rapid-connect terminals: kit includes cable set to convert to 1/4โ€ณ Fast-On Tabs.
  • Lithium Ion Available: a Lithium Ion battery is also available as a further upgrade with 1/4โ€ณ Fast-On Tabs.
