Output Axle Seal Kit – 1065932-00-A

Drive Unit Output Axle Shaft Seal โ€“ 44ร—67 (Legacy S/X & 3/Y Front)
Tesla PN: 1065932-00-A

OE-style output axle seal โ€ข DVI / HNBR 44ร—67 โ€ข Legacy Model S/X half-shafts & Model 3/Y front drive unit

This drive unit output axle shaft seal (44ร—67) is an OE-style replacement for Tesla applications using the 1065932-00-A seal. It is commonly found on earlier Model S/X half-shaft designs and front drive unit assemblies on Model 3/Y, where it keeps the drive unit oil in and road contamination out at the axle/output interface.

Why these seals fail
  • High torque EV duty โ€“ Instant torque and repeated load reversals work the sealing lip against the shaft.
  • Heat & age โ€“ Continuous thermal cycling hardens the elastomer and reduces its ability to maintain a tight seal.
  • Contamination โ€“ Road grit, moisture and fine particles can score the shaft or seal bore over time.
  • Installation issues โ€“ Cocked, over-driven or dry-installed seals deform and start seeping prematurely.
Our solution
  • Correct 44ร—67 geometry โ€“ Matches Teslaโ€™s DVI / HNBR 44ร—67 design for the intended drive unit housings.
  • OE-style DVI / HNBR construction โ€“ Oil-resistant elastomer and sealing profile suitable for EV drive unit temperatures.
  • Leak-stop repair โ€“ Targets axle-output seepage before fluid loss leads to accelerated bearing or gear wear.
  • Ideal for shops & DIY โ€“ Stock it for routine drive unit work, axle replacements, or collision repairs involving half-shafts.
Component Drive Unit Output Axle Shaft Seal
Tesla OEM PN 1065932-00-A
Seal Size 44ย mm (ID) ร— 67ย mm (OD)
Material / Type DVI, HNBR output axle seal
Typical Applications Model S (early / legacy half-shafts)
Model X (early / legacy half-shafts)
Model 3 โ€“ front drive unit assembly
Model Y โ€“ front drive unit assembly
Position Drive unit output shaft / axle interface
Condition New replacement part
Compatibility Note Used with older S/X half-shafts and specific 3/Y front drive units. Vehicles updated to newer
half-shafts may require the 40ร—67 seal (1108557-00-A). Verify shaft and drive unit variant before ordering.
Service & coverage

Recommended any time a half-shaft is removed from the drive unit or there is visible oil at the axle exit. Ideal for routine driveline service, collision repair, and noise/leak diagnosis work on affected Model S, X, 3, and Y vehicles.

Installation note

Clean the bore and axle shaft thoroughly, check for grooves or corrosion, and apply a light film of clean oil to the seal lip and shaft. Use a proper seal driver to press the seal in straight and evenly until it is fully seated in the
drive unit casting. Avoid hammering directly on the seal to prevent distortion.

Maintenance tip: After seal replacement, top off or replace the drive unit oil per Tesla specifications and inspect the area after a short test drive. Any fresh oil trace at the axle exit usually indicates an installation issue that should be corrected immediately.
