The underlying foam/sponge backing becomes brittle and inflexible, causing the fabric to release and the finish to look tired—even on otherwise well-kept cars.
By shipping your hardtop to Gruber, we can strip the failed liner, address the foam breakdown, and reupholster the interior so it presents like a brand-new hardtop again—tight, clean, and properly bonded.
Delamination correction — Remove compromised backing and prep the substrate for long-term adhesion.
Foam/sponge remediation — Replace brittle, crumbling foam so the liner lays smooth and compliant.
Reupholstery & finish — Install a fresh, properly tensioned liner for an OEM-clean look.

How the service works
Ship the hardtop — We’ll provide packing guidance to protect edges, corners, and mounting points.
Inspection — We document delamination, foam condition, and any exterior cosmetic issues.
Reupholster interior — Remove failed liner/foam, prep, replace backing, and install new liner.
Optional exterior correction — If requested, we quote and perform paint/body touch-ups.
Return shipment — Final quality check and careful repack for safe transit back to you.
Notes: Because condition varies, exterior cosmetic correction is quoted after inspection (photos welcome in advance). If your top has prior repairs, cracks, or missing trim pieces, tell us up front so we can plan the best restoration path.
