Tesla Roadster 1.5 Series — OEM TPMS Sensor (2008)
Restore proper tire-pressure monitoring on first-generation Tesla Roadsters. These are the
original-style sensors used on 2008 (1.5) Roadsters, supplied brand new in factory packaging.
Overview
- One TPMS sensor mounts inside each wheel and wirelessly reports tire pressure to the car.
- When a sensor fails, the Roadster displays “TPMS Error” messages on the VDS.
- Each sensor contains a sealed, non-replaceable battery with typical service life of up to ~5 years.
- Because batteries age together, it’s recommended to replace all four at the same time.
Key Features
- Direct replacement for Tesla Roadster 1.5 (2008).
- Brand new, factory-boxed components (not refurbished).
- Correct form factor for Roadster wheels; compatible with OEM stems.
- Designed to pair with the Roadster’s factory TPMS firmware.
What’s Included
- (1) TPMS sensor unit — order 4 for a complete set.
Installation & Setup
- Professional installation recommended during tire mount/balance.
- After install, learn/pair sensors to the vehicle using the Roadster procedure (shop tool or VDS learn mode, as applicable).
- Replace valve-stem seals if needed to ensure an airtight fit.
Notes
- Batteries are sealed; sensor replacement is the only service option when they age out.
- If one fails, the others are typically close behind; replacing the set minimizes repeat labor and downtime.
