The Tesla Model Y uses compact, brushless auxiliary coolant pumps to circulate coolant through the battery, drive unit, and heat pump circuits.
This OEM-style pump (1088245-00-J / -00-K family) is the heart of the low-temperature loop, helping keep the high-voltage battery, power electronics and cabin thermal system in their ideal operating range. A weak or failed pump can trigger coolant warnings, thermal limits, reduced power, or poor cabin heat/defrost.
| Technical Specifications & Fitment | |
|---|---|
| Tesla OEM PN (interchange) | 1088245-00-J / 1088245-00-K; commonly interchangeable with 1619322-00-C and 1492611-S0-A (verify by VIN). |
| Application | Tesla Model Y 2020โ2025 (all trims) auxiliary coolant pump; also used on many Model 3 vehicles with the shared thermal system. |
| Function | Brushless electric pump circulating coolant through the low-temperature loop (battery, powertrain, chiller and heat pump as configured). |
| Mounting Location | Front of vehicle, attached to the coolant manifold / supermanifold assembly behind the front aero shield. |
| Bolt Torque | Approx. 1.8ย Nm (1.3ย lb-ft) for the four mounting screws (always follow the latest Tesla service specifications). |
| Included | Auxiliary coolant pump assembly only. O-rings, coolant, and mounting hardware sold separately unless otherwise noted in the options above. |
| Installation Notes | Requires Service Mode, coolant drain and vacuum refill / bleed. Professional installation strongly recommended for Model Y thermal systems. |
Replacing a Model Y auxiliary coolant pump is more involved than a conventional ICE water pump. The procedure includes putting the car into
Service Mode, safely disconnecting low-voltage power, removing front aero shields, and using a vacuum-fill tool to purge air from the system
before refill. We recommend installation by a technician experienced with Tesla Model 3/Y thermal systems or having the work performed at Gruber Motors.
Maintenance tip: Any time you replace a coolant pump on Model Y, install new, lightly lubricated O-rings on the manifold ports and run the full
Coolant Fill/Drain routine in Service Mode. Simply topping off the reservoir can leave air pockets that cause noise, poor thermal performance,
or a repeat pump failure.
