Every Roadster Has a Story
This 2008 Tesla Roadster Signature 100 helped provide funding for children in need throughout the Northwest Florida Panhandle.
The original owner generously donated this Roadster to the St. Joe Community Foundation for auction at the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation. The proceeds helped support hundreds of children, including those affected by health issues and abuse.
At the 2018 auction, the current owner stepped outside for some fresh air and seafood, accidentally leaving his bidder’s paddle with his wife. When he returned to the table, he discovered that she had graciously bid on — and won — this Roadster.
The champagne bottles with sparklers popping around the table were his second clue. A kiss from the wife of the losing bidder was the first.
Even among an evening of exceptional wines, this Roadster became the pièce de résistance.
Since 2018, this elusive Roadster has traveled sparingly along the Hill Country roads between San Antonio and Austin, Texas. Now, after being meticulously polished by Gruber Motors, it is time for someone else to enjoy this special sports car.
Our Take
Whenever a low-VIN Signature Series Tesla Roadster becomes available, valuation becomes difficult because so few of these cars exist.
This particular Roadster has several highly collectible attributes:
- Very low Signature VIN: Signature 100 / VIN 18
- Limited-edition Signature Green factory color, regarded by some as a Holy Grail Roadster color
- Excellent condition, including recent paint correction and full PPF wrap
- Exceptionally preserved ESS Main Battery Pack, charging to 188 miles in Standard Mode with a CAC of 154.64
Recent Service & Maintenance
The owner spared no expense resolving deferred maintenance and preserving this Roadster properly. Recent work includes:
- Full Gruber Motor Company PEM rebuild
- Annual preventive maintenance
- Carbon fiber cooling fan shroud replacement
- PEM cooling fan and drive motor fan replacement
- Battery coolant pump replacement
- Brake system service, including rotor resurfacing and new brake pads
This car not only looks breathtaking, but with the full PPF treatment, it has a buttery smooth finish.
The Signature Green color remains one of the most admired colors in our Service Center.
The Roadster is currently being stored for the owner at Gruber Motors and is available for test drives by appointment.
