Every Roadster has a story with it, here’s what the owner shared:
VIN 18 – Tesla Roadster Backstory
This 2008 Tesla Roadster Signature 100 provided funding for children in need in the Northwest Florida Panhandle.
The original owner generously donated this Roadster to the St. Joe Community Foundation for auction at the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation.
This car provided money that affected the lives of hundreds of children, including those afflicted by health issues and abuse.
At the 2018 auction, the current owner inadvertently left his bidder’s paddle with his wife and went outside for some fresh air and delicious seafood.
When he returned to the table, he realized his wife graciously bid on and won this Roadster.
The sparkler-clad champagne bottles popping at his table surrounding his beautiful wife was his second clue (a kiss from the wife of the losing bidder was his first clue).
Even though some of the best wines were being auctioned, this Roadster was the pièce de résistance.
Since 2018, this elusive Roadster has sparingly travelled only the Hill Country roads between San Antonio and Austin, Texas.
Now, after being meticulously polished by Gruber Motors, it is time to let someone else enjoy this special sports car.

Whenever you have a low VIN Signature series Roadster for sale, valuation becomes difficult since so few of these cars exist.
This Roadster has a number of collectible components:
1 – Very low Signature VIN – 100/18
2 – A limited edition Signature Green factory color, regarded by some as Holy Grail
3 – Exquisite condition, with a recent paint correction and a FULL PPF wrap.
4 – An ESS Main Battery Pack that is so well preserved, it charges to 188 in standard mode with a CAC of 154.64
This Roadster customer spared no expense resolving deferred maintenance which includes:
– Full GMC level PEM rebuild
– Annual Preventive Maintenance
– Cooling fan shroud replaced with Carbon Fiber
– PEM Cooling and drive motors fans replaced
– Battery Coolant Pump replacement
– Brake system rebuilt with Rotor resurface and new brake pads
This car not only looks breathtaking, but with the full PPF treatment, has a buttery feel, and the color is one of the most popular in our Service Center.
The Roadster is being stored for the owner at Gruber Motors, and available for test drives by appointment.
