Every Roadster has a story with it, here’s what the owner shared: VIN 18 – Tesla Roadster Backstory This 2008 Tesla Roadster Signature 100 provided funding for children in need in the Northwest Florida Panhandle. The original owner generously donated this Roadster to the St. Joe Community Foundation for auction at the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation. This car provided money that affected the lives of hundreds of children, including those afflicted by health issues and abuse. At the 2018 auction, the current owner inadvertently left his bidder’s paddle with his wife and went outside for some fresh air and delicious seafood. When he returned to the table, he realized his wife graciously bid on and won this Roadster. The sparkler-clad champagne bottles popping at his table surrounding his beautiful wife was his second clue (a kiss from the wife of the losing bidder was his first clue). Even though some of the best wines were being auctioned, this Roadster was the pièce de résistance. Since 2018, this elusive Roadster has sparingly travelled only the Hill Country roads between San Antonio and Austin, Texas. Now, after being meticulously polished by Gruber Motors, it is time to let someone else enjoy this special sports car.
