Hollywood & Ownership Backstory

This Roadster was purchased new by the owner from Tesla Motors in San Carlos, California. The owner bought the car in 2008 because they loved the company and wanted to support the electric vehicle industry at a time when Tesla was still proving itself.

Beyond its early Tesla significance, this car has a unique entertainment connection. It was used to create sound effects for Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, giving it a backstory unlike most Roadsters on the market.

Owner’s Backstory

Every Roadster has a story with it. Here is what the owner shared:

This 2008 Tesla Roadster was purchased new by us from Tesla Motors in San Carlos, California, and was used to create sound effects in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.

We bought it in 2008 because we love the company and wanted to support the electric vehicle industry. This is a single-owner car, owned by Brad Bird, director of The Incredibles.

Also because the car is cool, fast, and great looking.

We replaced the battery at the Tesla Service Center with a new 3.0 upgrade pack in 2024.
