This special custom factory color Roadster, is reminiscent of Martin Eberhard’s VIN #2, and like most Roadsters, is more than just a car, with an interesting backstory. Check out the images, some are Martin’s VIN #2.  Here are excerpts of what the owner told us about VIN 440 for sale:

Our 2008 Roadster was delivered to us in 2009 after my husband saw the movie “Who Killed the Electric Car”.

My husband Darrell was shocked to see an amazing Electric, environmentally friendly, no gas car that was eliminated for no reason. Darrell loved saving clean air for generations and found the company Tesla was making a Electric car.

At a party one night, Darryl was talking about his new interest in EV’s, and on the way home, I asked why he does not just buy one.

I was surprised the next day he went to the Menlo Park Tesla store, and bought this Roadster.

Before we took delivery Darrell contacted Martin Eberhard to thank him for making a beautiful electric car. Martin asked us to breakfast at Buck’s restaurant. Martin is so sweet and intelligent, we had a great time.

Martin, who has the exact opposite color combination of our Roadster, had two custom license plates, and offered us his MY TESLA license plate. That is on the car.

His wife had recently given him a custom license plate as a gift – MR TESLA, so he donated MY TESLA to us for our Roadster. Martin also gave us some charge cables he developed.

It is a beautiful car, cherished and treasured, but I need to sell the car because my husband died in February and it was his baby.
I would like it to go to someone who will appreciate its uniqueness, and continue to preserve the car like we did.
