This Tesla Roadster recently came through our shop for battery-related service and has since been returned to the road following a thorough diagnostic review and successful resolution of the issue. The vehicle clearly spent much of its life stored in a protected environment, showing minimal wear and exceptionally well-preserved paint. The owner has also addressed many of the routine deferred maintenance items that Roadsters commonly accumulate, ensuring the car is in strong mechanical condition for its next owner.
I bought this 2008 Tesla Roadster as the second owner with a very specific purpose in mind—to own a true piece of technological history. Having spent my career in technology, and now serving as a Chief Information Officer for a health plan, I’ve always been drawn to innovations that fundamentally change the world.
The Roadster represents exactly that: the beginning of a shift that redefined what was possible in both automotive engineering and sustainable technology.
Owning it has been a genuine joy. I’ve taken great care in maintaining it, appreciating not just its performance but what it stands for. It’s been part of simple, meaningful moments—driving it out to the golf club, taking my wife on spontaneous trips for ice cream, and sharing it with others at car shows across the Midwest.
Everywhere it went, it sparked curiosity and excitement. People didn’t just see a car—they saw the origin story of something bigger, and they wanted to be part of that moment.
Being a steward of one of the original 500 Roadsters has truly been a privilege and a dream fulfilled.
Now, it feels like the right time to pass that dream on to someone new—someone who will appreciate its place in history and continue to share its story.
This Roadster is currently stored at EV Preserve in Phoenix, Arizona — a specialized facility dedicated to the preservation of rare and collectible electric vehicles. Conveniently located near Deer Valley Airport (DVT), EV Preserve allows prospective buyers to fly into Phoenix and personally view Roadsters available for sale. Vehicles can typically be inspected and test driven by appointment, giving serious buyers the opportunity to evaluate the car in person.
