Owner’s Backstory
Here is the backstory on this Roadster:
I reserved my Roadster in May of 2008 and took delivery of this car from Tesla in July of 2009.
I drove it regularly until I got a Tesla Model S in 2012. The Roadster has not had much drive time since then.
It has always been kept in the garage and charged in storage mode since I have not been driving it often.
Tesla provided many battery upgrades. As it was an early model, they would remotely monitor the health of the battery and schedule a replacement, even though I never noticed any problem.
It includes the 40A 240V UMC and 15A 120 VAC yellow charging cables. It also includes the soft top.
Tesla found that the Power Electronics Module needed to be replaced at the end of 2017. Tesla said this part was out of production and told me they would do their best to find a replacement.
A few months went by, and being a bit impatient at that point, I tweeted Elon asking if he could give me the PEM out of the car, VIN 686, that he was sending into space.
I cannot confirm this is the PEM, but shortly after that tweet, I got the PEM replaced in my Roadster.
Note: The charge level screen appears to be a range charge. We will request a standard charge screen.
